Missing a CRA deadline doesn't just mean a late filing — it means penalties, interest charges, and potential loss of benefits. For Ontario business owners, staying on top of deadlines is non-negotiable.

    Key 2026 Deadlines

    Personal Tax (T1)

Filing deadline: April 30, 2026. Self-employed individuals: June 15, 2026 (but any balance owing is still due April 30).

    Corporate Tax (T2)

Due 6 months after your fiscal year-end. Payment is due 2-3 months after year-end depending on your corporation type.

    HST/GST Returns

Filing frequency depends on your annual revenue — monthly, quarterly, or annually. Annual filers with a December 31 year-end must file by June 15, 2026.

    Payroll Remittances

Due by the 15th of the month following the pay period. Late remittances incur escalating penalties from 3% to 10% depending on how overdue.
